P5 Photo Essay: Neglect

When I first started this, I have the idea for it, yet I don't know what exact theme they fit in. In the end, the word that best describe the overall theme to the photos is neglect. I initially thought of doing my old home, since I know for a long while that it is in complete disrepair, at least to me personally. It fits well with the theme since my family, especially one of them, didn't do a great job keeping it up to everyone's standards compared to me. I won't say who exactly did it. The main aspect for the photos is to show what happens when a house is left behind or didn't get fixed for a couple years. I did my best to capture the best examples of being neglected. They are shown to be rotting away, dust and soot everywhere, torn-off ceilings, with particles getting into the lungs, not to mention the leaking from the rain and snow. It is the first photomontage I made, so it didn't turn out well as I think of everyone’s opinions on it . I ran out of ideas for this particular project, so I thought of doing the trees one instead, but with a twist. So, I took photos of various trees around campus since I'm limited in travel and have to watch the weather , in addition to keep them from having any human figures, wouldn’t do me any good . After taking a couple photos , I see somewhat of an idea to make a tree made of trees. I have one close-up of a tree to serve as the body of it, then I have the other photos resize to be somewhat like branches, all in an arch shaped position. I have to get them to have the right lighting so everyone can see them clearly. Although, for some reason, a few of them are blurry , there is nothing I can really do about them.
